Citizen Participation

1.Conducting Citizen Opinion Surveys of Municipal Services
Research, Development and Evaluation Commission (hereinafter referred to as “RDEC”) conducts citizen opinion surveys of municipal services of the Taipei City Government. This survey analyzes citizens’ satisfaction level to help improve policy development. RDEC also organizes workshops in training personnel to design opinion surveys, and expects to supply the educational environment where personnel can develop their potential.


2.Maintaining the Operation of the Taipei Citizen Participation Committee
 In order to realize the political ideal of open government and public participation, engage citizens’ opinions in policy making and effectively diminish the gap between policy and public expectation, the Taipei City Government (hereinafter referred to as “TCG”) took the approach of establishing an organization and founded the Taipei Citizen Participation Committee (hereinafter referred to as “the Committee”). The Committee includes the members outside of TCG selected from the public and sets out to enhance transparent governance, citizen participation and collaboration.
