Research, Development and Evaluation Commission of Taipei City Government conducted the opinion poll between 28 and 30 of September regarding Mayor Ko’s job approval rate, public governance and the overall experience with Taipei City.

【Mayor Ko’s Job Approval Rate】
Among 1,003 interviewees, 54% of the respondents are satisfied and 36% of the respondents are unsatisfied with the job performance of Mayor Ko Wen-je.

【Public Governance Survey】
The survey of public governance has three key dimensions: government efficiency, government responsiveness and public participation, and governance philosophy.  All of the 15 survey indicators within these three dimensions get positive responses. Two of the top 4 indicators are from the government efficiency dimension, including law-based administration (69%) and the ability to implement policies (68%).  The other two are from the governance philosophy dimension, including information transparency (66%) and corruption perception (65%).  It's also worth mentioning that almost half of the respondents agree that the Taipei City Government is putting effort into industrial development which is higher by 11 percent than those who disagree.

【Overall Experience with Taipei City】
Forty-eight percent of the all 1003 interviewees feel that Taipei is making progress but 30% feel otherwise. In comparison with the previous poll conducted between September 23 and 25, 2019, the approval for Taipei’s progressiveness goes up by 4%.  In regard to the pride of living in Taipei, 69% feel proud, which is 5% higher than the previous poll.  In addition, respondents are also asked to grade the Taipei City Government staff’s performance. The average score is 67, which is one point higher than the previous poll.

【Background Information of the Opinion Poll】
The poll interviewed 1003 citizens of Taipei City aged 18 and above in the evenings between September 28 and 30 of 2020. The margin of sampling error is under ±3.09 percent at the 95 percent confidence interval.  Respondents were randomly selected based on the residential landline numbers registered in Taipei City.
